Anthropic added 15 consumer-facing app connectors to Claude, expanding its connector directory past 200 integrations and shifting from work-focused tools to everyday lifestyle services. The new connectors include AllTrails, Audible, Booking.com, Instacart, Intuit Credit Karma, Intuit TurboTax, Resy, Spotify, StubHub, Taskrabbit, Thumbtack, TripAdvisor, Uber, Uber Eats, and Viator, Anthropic announced.

Contextual Suggestion, Not Manual Selection

The expansion includes a change to how connectors surface during conversations. Claude now suggests relevant apps based on what the user is doing, per Anthropic’s blog post. Ask about a weekend hike, and AllTrails surfaces trails matching stated preferences. When multiple connected apps could answer the same question, Claude shows both and lets the user choose.

This differs from how competitors handle third-party integrations. ChatGPT relies on users selecting tools manually, while Gemini connects primarily to Google’s own ecosystem, PYMNTS reported. Claude’s approach is suggestion-driven discovery inside the conversation.

Ad-Free Commitment

Anthropic emphasized that the connector system has no paid placements or sponsored answers. “When two connectors could help, you see both, ranked by what’s most useful to you,” the company wrote. Connected services cannot see users’ other conversations with Claude, and user data from connected apps is not used for model training. Users can disconnect any service at any time.

Before executing any booking or purchase, Claude is designed to confirm with the user first, TechBriefly reported.

Transaction Layer Complexity

The Instacart integration illustrates why consumer connectors are harder than they appear. Instacart CTO Anirban Kundu described the challenge in a company post cited by PYMNTS: grocery involves tens of thousands of SKUs per store, inventory that changes by the minute, and household preferences that shift by season and occasion. Instacart’s integration draws on data pipelines from over 2,200 retail banners and a catalog of more than 2 billion items. Carts built inside Claude sync to the user’s Instacart account.

The Platform Competition

The launch puts Anthropic on the same consumer terrain as OpenAI and Google at a moment when all three are competing to become the default orchestration layer for daily decisions. Since launching connectors in July 2025, Anthropic has found that users frequently connect multiple apps and use them together in a single conversation, per its blog. A product manager might pull a query from Amplitude, create a Canva deck, and drop it into Asana without leaving the conversation.

Connectors are available on all Claude plans, with mobile access in beta, 9to5Mac reported.
