Passionfroot, a Berlin-based marketplace connecting brands with B2B content creators, closed a $15 million Series A funding round led by Insight Partners, BitcoinWorld reported on July 22. The capital will fund expansion into the US and Brazil.
The company’s core product is Zest, an AI agent that automates the workflow between brands and creators. Zest handles campaign creation, matches brands with relevant creators both inside and outside the platform, executes campaign coordination, and monitors performance. It draws on a proprietary data set from thousands of campaigns run through Passionfroot’s network.
Revenue Growth and the AI Crowding Problem
Co-founder and CEO Jen Phan told BitcoinWorld that Passionfroot increased revenue 13x over the past year. Current clients include ElevenLabs, Figma, Replit, Framer, and Gamma.
The growth thesis is tied to a specific market dynamic: AI tools have lowered the barrier to building software products, flooding every category with new offerings. “AI is commoditizing software and flooding every category with new products, features, and launches,” Phan said. B2B buyers are increasingly turning to LinkedIn, Substack newsletters, and YouTube podcasts to discover tools, making expert creators a distribution channel that traditional advertising struggles to match.
Rebecca Liu-Doyle, managing director at Insight Partners, framed the demand side: “There is increasing consumerization of the way B2B brands go to market,” she told BitcoinWorld. “On the supply side, there are people who have real expertise, understand a market deeply, and want to create quality content.”
Platform Mechanics
Passionfroot includes a built-in wallet for global creator payments and spending tracking. The company says it has paid at least $10 million to creators on its platform in the last 18 months.
The company is also building tools to help clients measure how campaigns influence AI citations and how their brand appears in AI-powered search answers, per BitcoinWorld. On the creator side, Passionfroot plans AI features offering monetization tips and content ideas.
The Agent Scaling Playbook
Phan is relocating to New York to open a US headquarters. The pattern Passionfroot represents is repeating across horizontal B2B marketplaces: identify the scaling constraint (manual curation and coordination), build an agent to automate it, raise capital to scale. Creator commerce, freelance platforms, logistics marketplaces, and real estate all face the same bottleneck. The companies that remove it with agents trained on proprietary data may build defensible positions before competitors can replicate the data advantage.
