OpenAI Commits Over $20 Billion to Cerebras in Three-Year Chip Supply Deal, Reviving IPO Plans
OpenAI has locked in more than $20 billion in compute spending with wafer-scale chip maker Cerebras Systems over the next three years, taking an equity stake and providing a $1 billion infrastructure loan. Cerebras filed for a Nasdaq IPO on April 17 after withdrawing its 2024 attempt, targeting a valuation of roughly $35 billion.
