Rubrik launched Rubrik Agent Cloud on April 29, a governance and security layer for Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform that includes what the company calls the industry’s only “rewind” capability for undoing an autonomous agent’s destructive actions, according to Security MEA and Zawya.
The system runs on Rubrik’s Semantic AI Governance Engine (SAGE), which replaces static, manual oversight with intent-driven guardrails that monitor agent behavior in real time.
Core Capabilities
Rubrik Agent Cloud provides four features for organizations deploying agents on Google’s Gemini platform, per Security MEA:
SAGE. Real-time, intent-based governance that controls autonomous agents as they operate, rather than auditing them after the fact.
Agent Inventory. Automatic discovery of agents running on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, with 360-degree visibility into risk exposure, access permissions, and policy violations.
Agent Rewind. The ability to “instantly and precisely undo an autonomous agent’s destructive action,” according to Rubrik.
Unified AI Control Pane. Integration with the Gemini platform that lets administrators manage AI security policies from the same Rubrik console they use for Google Workspace and hybrid cloud data.
Why Governance Is the Bottleneck
“Enterprises want the speed of Google Cloud’s AI technologies, but also require the safety of Rubrik’s cyber resilience,” said Devvret Rishi, General Manager of AI at Rubrik, per Security MEA. “RAC provides real-time guardrails organizations need to speed AI agents into production, without the worry of compromising enterprise security or integrity.”
Satish Thomas, Vice President of Applied AI and Platform Ecosystem at Google Cloud, said in the same announcement that “security and governance are top of mind” as enterprises move into autonomous operations with Gemini Enterprise.
Gartner predicts 40% of enterprise applications will integrate task-specific AI agents by the end of 2026. At that adoption rate, governance infrastructure stops being optional compliance overhead and starts being a prerequisite for deployment velocity. Rubrik is positioning Agent Cloud as the layer that makes Google’s agent platform enterprise-safe, a bet that the governance bottleneck is where the real revenue sits.
