Trend Micro’s enterprise AI security unit TrendAI announced a strategic engagement with Anthropic on April 17, 2026, embedding Claude models across its platform to power agentic workflows, automation, and AI-native security operations, according to the company’s announcement via Media OutReach Newswire.

Trend Micro (TYO: 4704) stock jumped nearly 12% to 6,100 yen on the news, briefly touching 6,294 yen for a near three-month high, according to Invezz.

Claude in the Security Lifecycle

The partnership covers the full AI security lifecycle: vulnerability discovery, threat research, automated defense, and security operations. TrendAI will embed Claude’s reasoning capabilities into workflows that include the Zero Day Initiative and Pwn2Own vulnerability research programs, both operated by Trend Micro.

“We launched TrendAI to define the AI security category. This next phase is about scaling that vision globally, with leading partners like Anthropic,” Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer and Head of TrendAI, told IT Digest. “Our broad, strategic collaboration across research, defense, and innovation will define how AI is secured moving forward.”

Enterprise Security as a Claude Deployment Vertical

Trend Micro serves Fortune 500 companies across 65 countries. The Anthropic partnership positions enterprise cybersecurity as a primary deployment vertical for Claude, alongside the enterprise productivity and coding use cases that have dominated Claude’s commercial adoption so far. The integration covers threat detection, incident response, vulnerability assessment, and compliance monitoring, all augmented by Claude’s reasoning capabilities.

The partnership timing aligns with broader industry data on AI agents in cybersecurity. The Stanford HAI 2026 AI Index, published this week, found that AI agents handling cybersecurity issues now solve problems 93% of the time, up from 15% in 2024. TrendAI’s Anthropic partnership is the enterprise product layer being built on top of that benchmark performance.
